The Bukit Merah
Lake provides recreation in many forms, one of them
being fishing. Fishing enthusiasts can have the thrill
of reeling in a toman or an arowana.
To promote the lake
as a fishing paradise, Bukit Merah Laketown Resort held its
inaugural fishing competition in October 1998. The event
attracted an encouraging number of enthusiastic anglers keen
to catch the grand prize of RM10,000.00 for the heaviest
catch!
In an effort to attract and encourage more people to take up
fishing as a hobby or sport, the Resort has completed a
two-acre Fishing Park, one of the largest freshwater fish
farms in Malaysia near the jetty.
For a nominal fee,
even the most inexperienced anglers can expect to catch a
fish.
